Epimedium x versicolor 'Cherry Tart'

Description –   This is a much more recent variety possibly from a cross between E. grandiflorum and E. pinnatum subs. colchicum. The inner sepals are bright pink whilst the petals are a darker pink changing to yellow at the mouth of the flower. This is a medium sized, semi –evergreen plant, which seems reasonably vigorous.  it was a chance seedling from the USA, so there is uncertainty as to its actual parentage.  It is distinct from any other Epimedium we have seen, and an eye catching plant when in flower. With its easy to remember varietal name, as well as looking good, it may have a commercial future.
