Epimedium brachyrrhizum
Distribution – China, Guizhou province
Description – This is an evergreen species where basal leaves have three leaflets and the flower stem carries one leaf of three leaflets. Leaflets have spiny margins. The flowers are pink, the inner sepals and petals of the same colour except towards the centre of the flower where the pink is darker. The rhizomes are short compared with a related species E. leptorrhizum, which is very similar in flower. It forms a clump around 30cm (1ft) tall.
