Epimediums

Description – This is a medium sized evergreen hybrid which I purchased as a seedling from Spinners Nursery in Hampshire many years ago. Kevin Hughs, formerly of that nursery raised a batch of E. acuminatum x davidii seedlings to flowering size. He invited me to choose any I fancied. I chose this one and have grown it ever since. We have taken it to our various displays where it has been admired. Last spring, at Hyde hall where we were showing, Linda and I sat talking about whether we should name it and came up with ‘Rhubarb and Custard’. A little later in the day, another stall holder visited our stand and we asked whether he thought the plant was good and if so what he would name it. He said yes it was good, and he would call it ‘Rhubarb and Custard’.  Quite uncanny!
