Epimediums

Description – This is a medium sized evergreen plant bred by Keith Wiley of Wildside Nursery, in Devon.  It carries rather small yellow flowers, but at the same time the new young foliage is a fantastic ruby red. Our older plant has not coloured as well  as it should, but my guess is that it needs a slightly more open position. We have planted another one recently in a less shady spot and hope it gives its proper stunning colour. I’m sure if you have Sally Gregson’s book, ‘The Plant Lover’s Guide to Epimediums’, you will have been amazed by the leaf colour in the picture. Sadly we haven’t the space to have such a large area of one variety as featured there.
