Epimediums

Description –   A hybrid raised by Elizabeth Strangman of Washfield Nursery in Kent, which is sadly, no longer open. It is the result of a cross between E. dolichostemon and leptorrhizum. It is a small to medium height evergreen plant with pink flowers which are closer to the E.leptorrhizum parent in appearance. The foliage of some of our plats of this give us a slight cause for concern, as they seem a bit twisted and mottled when mature. I wonder if the stock is infected with a virus. I recently bought a plant from a remote source to compare. We won’t know until next year. Nevertheless it is an attractive plant and available through various nurseries.
